Azerbaijan approves legal assistance treaty with Ukraine on civil and commercial matters

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed a law ratifying the Treaty with Ukraine on Legal Assistance in Civil and Commercial Matters, according to apa.az.

The treaty was signed on April 25, 2026, in Gabala, Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan’s parliament ratified the treaty with Ukraine on legal assistance in civil and commercial matters on July 10, Report said.

The new Treaty between Ukraine and Azerbaijan on Legal Assistance in Civil and Commercial Matters was signed during President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s official visit to Azerbaijan. The document was signed by Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha on behalf of Ukraine and Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov on behalf of Azerbaijan.

The document is of strategic importance for protecting the rights of Ukrainians abroad. Its conclusion is part of Ukraine’s transition from the mechanisms of the 1993 Minsk Convention to a new system of bilateral legal agreements with partner countries.
