An International Arts Festival named after Sviatoslav Richter will take place in Zhytomyr from March 18 to 20.
According to the website of the Zhytomyr Regional Philharmonic named after Sviatoslav Richter, the event will open on March 18 with a concert featuring music that will launch the International Festival of Masters of Arts named after Sviatoslav Richter — an event that annually brings together performers and audiences around the true values of classical music. The festival will be opened by young Lviv pianist Makar Voynarovskyi, a musician whose performance is distinguished by depth of sound, sincerity, and refined style.
On the second day of the festival, March 19, the concert “Tribute to the Master” will take place. Students and teachers of the Zhytomyr Music Professional College named after Viktor Kosenko will perform on stage.
The festival will conclude on March 20 with the concert program “Music of the Peoples of the World,” presented by the Vinnytsia Regional Philharmonic named after Mykola Leontovych.
One of the world’s greatest pianists, Sviatoslav Richter, was born on March 20, 1915, in Zhytomyr.
