Four Ukrainian films will be screened at the 30th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF), which will take place from 6 to 22 November.

The Ukrainian Film Academy announced the news on Facebook.

PÖFF is one of Northern Europe's most prestigious film festivals and holds A-list accreditation from the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF).

This year, Ukrainian cinema will be represented in several competitive sections of the festival.

The documentary To Die To Live, directed by Yuliia Hontaruk and co-produced by Ukraine, Latvia and Slovakia, will compete in the Doc@PÖFF Baltic Competition.

Hlib Feldman's short fiction film Another Day in the Metal Box has been selected for the Shorts Live-Action Competition 3.

Yuliia Haleta's short drama Before Dawn will be presented in the Shorts New Talents Competition: Live-action 2.

The Ukrainian-Lithuanian documentary Living On, directed by Nerijus Milerius, tells the stories of three Ukrainian veterans who are searching for new meaning and opportunities in life after experiencing captivity, injuries and combat-related trauma. The film will have its world premiere in the Doc@PÖFF Baltic Competition.

The festival will also feature a special programme, Standing with Ukraine, aimed at supporting Ukraine and drawing international attention to Ukrainian stories.

"Participation by our filmmakers in international competitions creates new opportunities for professional cooperation, the development of Ukrainian cinema and strengthening its presence on the global film scene," the Ukrainian Film Academy noted.
