Russian forces resumed massive strikes on Ukraine after a brief pause, using 731 aerial attack assets, including cruise and ballistic missiles as well as jet-powered drones.

This was reported by Yurii Ignat, head of the communications department of the Ukrainian Air Force Command, in a television broadcast.

“It is important to understand that the enemy has been attacking in large numbers for several days in a row. We talked about this in advance… There was an extremely short pause after yesterday evening’s strike, which was not enough for personnel to rest or for equipment to regroup,” Ihnat said.

According to him, the Ukrainian Air Force and Defense Forces have repeatedly operated in such continuous conditions, which leads to physical exhaustion of personnel, overload of equipment, and heavy ammunition expenditure. He stressed that the current attacks are among the most powerful since the start of the full-scale invasion.

“As we can see from today’s nighttime strike, there was a large number of aerial attack assets — 731. We are currently experiencing some of the most intense strikes of the entire full-scale invasion, involving cruise and ballistic missiles as well as various types of drones,” he said.

Ihnat reported that during the attack, Russian forces used not only Gerbera, Italmas, and Shahed-type drones, but also jet-powered UAVs and Banderol loitering munitions. According to him, several such targets were detected by Ukraine’s Defense Forces.

“The nature of the strike is clear in the end: we are seeing a horrific picture of destroyed residential buildings, and unfortunately there are casualties in the capital,” he added.

Over the past day (May 13–14), Russia used 1,428 drones of various types against Ukraine. Air defense forces neutralized 1,362 of them, meaning the effectiveness of air defense against UAVs reached 95.38%.
