First Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Serhiy Kyslytsya, and Deputy Head of the Office of the President, Ihor Zhovkva, held a meeting with Ireland’s Minister of State for Europe and Defense, Thomas Byrne, who is visiting Kyiv.
Serhiy Kyslytsya expressed gratitude to Ireland for its consistent and principled support of Ukraine both bilaterally and within the European Union.

The meeting focused on advancing bilateral cooperation, building on the agreements reached during the first official visit of the Head of the Ukrainian State to Ireland in December of last year.
Special attention was given to partnership efforts supporting Ukraine’s path toward European Union membership and the priorities of Ireland’s EU Council Presidency in the second half of 2026. Ireland supports Ukraine’s EU membership as a key element of a comprehensive security architecture for Ukraine and all of Europe.
The discussion also covered the progress of negotiations aimed at achieving a just peace and strengthening sanctions pressure on Russia. The parties exchanged views on prospects for the next trilateral meeting.
