Ukrainian Armed Forces struck a Yandex data centre in the city of Sasovo, Ryazan region, overnight on October 8, according to Ukrainian monitoring channel Exilenova+ and Astra.
The data centre is located on the premises of the Sasta plant, which manufactures metalworking machinery and supplies equipment to enterprises in the defence industry.

Eyewitness footage showed a large fire breaking out at the facility following the attack. Yandex confirmed an "incident" and reported that several of its services were temporarily unavailable.

The Yandex data centre in Sasovo opened in 2011. In 2022, the head of the city administration, Yevgeniya Rubtsova, said the company had invested more than 6 billion rubles in the facility over 11 years.
