The death toll from a Russian missile strike on a five-storey residential building in Pryluky, Chernihiv region, has risen to 22, including five children, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported.
Another 54 people were injured, including seven children.
The search and rescue operation at the site has now been completed, according to Zelensky and the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration.

The updated figures mark a significant increase from earlier reports, as emergency workers continued searching through the rubble of the destroyed residential building.
Following the completion of rescue operations, Zelensky announced important talks with international partners scheduled for October 8 and 9, focusing on additional air defence systems and ammunition.
The president stressed the importance of strengthening Ukraine’s air defences as Russian missile and drone attacks continue to cause civilian casualties across the country.
