The National Cybersecurity Coordination Center under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has joined the international project Quantum-Resistant Cryptography in Practice (QARC) within the Horizon Europe programme.

The National Security and Defense Council reported this on Facebook.

The goal is to make digital systems resilient to future quantum attacks that could break modern cryptographic algorithms.

The project предусматриes the development of post-quantum versions of key security protocols (Kerberos, PKI, TLS); the creation of secure cloud storage and data transmission platforms; the implementation of quantum-resistant solutions for e-governance and electronic voting; and the development of practical roadmaps for transitioning to new cryptographic standards.

Experts from 11 European countries, including universities, national cybersecurity authorities, and private companies, have joined QARC.

This is an important step toward protecting Ukraine’s critical digital systems and highlights the strategic importance of post-quantum cryptography for the state, the National Security and Defense Council emphasized.
