The total amount of state grants provided under Ukraine’s support program for horticulture, berry growing, and viticulture from 2022 to 2025 exceeded UAH 1.12 billion.
According to data from the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture, cited by the “Berry Growing Ukraine” association, 295 grant decisions were made during this period. This resulted in 3,770.9 hectares of new perennial plantations across 19 regions of Ukraine, as well as the creation of 1,163 permanent jobs and 36,532 seasonal positions.
“The largest number of grants were implemented in Zakarpattia, with Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Lviv, and Ivano-Frankivsk also among the leaders. At the same time, no grant applications were submitted in frontline and temporarily occupied regions,” the association noted.
The main areas of new plantations under the program from 2022–2025 include:
- Nut crops (hazelnuts, walnuts, etc.)
- Apples
- Blueberries and bilberries
- Raspberries
- Garden strawberries
“This demonstrates a steady interest among producers in fruit, berry, and niche crops with export potential,” the association emphasized.
For 2026, the program’s funding is planned at UAH 235 million.
