Ukraine remains open to restoring constructive dialogue with South Korea despite Seoul's decision to recall its ambassador to Kyiv, Park Ki-chang, over disagreements concerning North Korean prisoners of war.
Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi made the statement to journalists.
Tykhyi said the ministry had summoned South Korea's ambassador earlier this week to present Ukraine's position and seek constructive solutions.
"The Ukrainian side's position was conveyed to him. We believe that diplomacy must prevail over emotions. Despite Seoul's decision to recall its ambassador, Ukraine remains open to restoring constructive dialogue, even if it takes time," the diplomat said.
The South Korean government decided to recall its ambassador from Kyiv following disagreements with Ukraine over the handling of North Korean prisoners of war.
