Ukraine continued its strong start at the 14th Winter Paralympic Games, securing ten medals—three gold, two silver, and five bronze—after the second day of competition, placing the team second in the medal standings behind China, which has one additional medal.
On Sunday, Ukrainian athletes added one silver and three bronze medals to their tally, the National Paralympic Committee of Ukraine reported on Facebook.
The standout performance came in para-biathlon during the 12.5 km individual race for athletes with visual impairments. Maksym Murashkovskyi of Kyiv, guided by Vitalii Trush from Zakarpattia, won silver in their Paralympic debut, while Dmytro Suiarko of Volyn, with guide Oleksandr Nikonovych of Kyiv, earned bronze.

Two other bronze medals were claimed in individual para-biathlon events: Taras Rad finished third in the men’s sitting class, and Oleksandra Kononova took third in the women’s standing class.

Sunday also featured para-snowboarding competitions. Vladyslav Khilchenko competed in the men’s SB-UL class but finished fourth in his preliminary heat and did not advance to the quarterfinals.
The Ukrainian team will use Monday as a training day, with ski races scheduled to resume on Tuesday, March 10.
