This was stated by Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, Taras Kachka, during the presentation of the Roadmap for the European integration of Ukraine’s dairy sector.
Commenting on the appearance of the roadmap, Taras Kachka noted that integration into European Union markets is usually associated with overcoming various types of prejudices against products. Therefore, the initiative to develop the roadmap and the active position of dairy associations and producers provide grounds for rapid and high-quality integration into EU markets.
“Over the past 10 years, Ukraine’s dairy industry has undergone significant transformation in terms of its orientation toward the EU market and the volume of products exported there. The basis for such success of Ukrainian products on the European market has been both the technological approaches of producers and the system of control and legislation in this field. Ukraine will continue this systematic work toward a full transition to European rules, but it is extremely important for us that these rules are also supported by the industry, since harmonious cooperation between the government and the sector depends on how quickly, dynamically, and comprehensively dairy enterprises implement European production approaches.”
