Transit shipments of Ukrainian grain and oilseeds through neighbouring Moldova, Slovakia and Hungary increased by a combined 46.5% in September compared with August, with Moldova and Slovakia accounting for most of the growth, Ukraine's Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Taras Vysotskyi, told journalists.

According to his figures, transit through Moldova rose by 59.7%, from 67,000 tonnes in August to 107,000 tonnes in September. Shipments through Slovakia increased by 61.5%, from 208,000 tonnes to 336,000 tonnes, while transit through Hungary grew by 8.5%, from 106,000 tonnes to 115,000 tonnes.

"Further increases are possible. We will see to what extent. We are working in all directions," Vysotskyi emphasised.

However, he declined to provide forecasts.

"We will report the actual results each month," the minister said.

Regarding the prospects of reopening the maritime grain corridor, the head of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy noted that "as of today, there are no signals from our partners that could provide any basis for planning ahead".

"The situation remains unchanged, neither better nor worse," Vysotskyi said.

The minister previously reported that Ukraine exported 2.4 million tonnes of agricultural products in September, representing 46% of the expected export volume.

Of this total, grain exports amounted to 1.4 million tonnes, or 38% of the expected volume; oilseeds accounted for 444,000 tonnes, or 83%; vegetable oil exports reached 311,000 tonnes, or 64%; and oilseed meal exports totalled 280,000 tonnes, or 46% of the potential required export volume.
