In Abu Dhabi, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The leaders discussed the results of the work of the Ukrainian team in the UAE, which is helping to save lives there. Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan thanked Ukraine for providing expert support and for sharing the experience of Ukrainians. Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that this is also important for Ukraine, because terrorism must not prevail anywhere in the world, and protection must be sufficient in every region. The President specifically stressed that Ukraine is open to joint long-term cooperation, which in the strategic perspective will strengthen both our peoples and protect lives in our countries. This is why it is important to leverage the opportunities of both nations to enhance protection, including through investments, joint production, and the appropriate modernization of protective systems for critical and social infrastructure.
The leaders spoke in detail about the security situation in the UAE and the region, including attacks from Iran, as well as the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and its impact on the global oil market.
“For all normal states, it is important to ensure stability and protect lives amid modern threats. Ukraine has the relevant expertise: our cities, unfortunately, have been under attacks every day for four years of full-scale war. Ukrainians have developed an appropriate protection system that achieves a significant rate of intercepting enemy drones and missiles. It is precisely this systematic approach and integration of experience that we offer to our partners,” said the President of Ukraine.

Volodymyr Zelensky and Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed possible steps for effectively responding to current challenges and agreed on cooperation in the field of security and defense. Teams are finalizing the details of the agreements.
