The prime ministers of Ukraine and Moldova have agreed on a 50% discount on rail transit for Ukrainian cargo.

Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi announced the agreement on Telegram.

“Following a recent conversation with Moldovan Prime Minister Vasile Tofan, we reached an agreement on a 50% discount on the transit of Ukrainian cargo by rail,” Koretskyi said.

According to the prime minister, the new arrangement will take effect on August 10 and remain in place until the end of 2026.

In addition, starting August 17, the route of the Kyiv–Chisinau train will be changed under an agreement between the two countries. The new route is expected to make transfers to Chisinau Airport more convenient and significantly faster for Ukrainian passengers.
