On the night of March 24 (from 18:00 on March 23), Russian forces carried out a combined strike on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure using attack UAVs and air- and ground-launched missiles.
In total, 426 aerial threats were detected by the Air Force’s radio-technical units:
- 7 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles (launched from Kursk region, Russia, and temporarily occupied Donetsk region);
- 18 Kh-101 cruise missiles (launched from airspace over the Caspian Sea);
- 5 Iskander-K cruise missiles (launched from Bryansk region, Russia);
- 4 guided air-launched missiles Kh-59/69/31 (launched from Kursk region, Russia, and temporarily occupied Donetsk region);
- 392 strike UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas types and other drones from Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Shatalovo, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Hvardiiske (temporarily occupied Crimea), about 250 of them Shahed drones.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data as of 09:00, air defense shot down or suppressed 390 targets — 25 missiles and 365 UAVs:
- 18 Kh-101 cruise missiles;
- 5 Iskander-K cruise missiles;
- 2 guided air-launched missiles Kh-59/69;
- 365 UAVs of various types.
Hits by 6 missiles and 27 strike UAVs were recorded at 22 locations, as well as debris from downed drones at 10 locations.
