The Russian forces launched a record 6,462 drones in March

Russian forces carried out an unprecedented wave of drone attacks against Ukraine in March, launching a total of 6,462 unmanned aerial vehicles over the course of the month. Not a single day passed without strikes involving Shahed-type drones. Among them, March 24 saw the highest number of drones launched in a single day — 948 units. Other major spikes were recorded on March 7 (480 drones), March 14 (430), and March 29 (442).

According to available data, Ukraine’s air defense forces intercepted the vast majority of incoming drones. A total of 5,833 UAVs were shot down during the month.

However, 629 drones either reached their intended targets or were not intercepted
