The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) entered into force on July 1, 2026, the State Customs Service of Ukraine reported via its Telegram channel.

It is noted that the document was signed on February 17, 2025 in Abu Dhabi and ratified by Ukrainian law No. 4802-IX on February 26, 2026.

The State Customs Service explains that the agreement establishes a modern framework for the development of bilateral trade in goods and services and provides for the creation of a free trade zone between the two countries through the elimination of customs duties. It is expected to open preferential access for Ukrainian producers to the UAE market and help expand the export geography of domestic products.

In addition, the document foresees deeper cooperation between the customs administrations of Ukraine and the UAE. The parties plan to conclude an Agreement on Mutual Customs Assistance, which will serve as a basis for information exchange as well as for the prevention and investigation of customs violations.
