In February, demining operators (PMD) cleared 970 hectares of agricultural land under the state programme for compensating the cost of land demining.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy, Environment, and Agriculture.
It was noted that in the last month of winter, nine agreements for demining agricultural land were completed, for which operators received UAH 65.2 million.
“UAH 67,200 per hectare is the average cost of land demined in February under the programme,” the ministry specified.
This is the highest demining cost in recent months. According to ministry data, the average cost of land cleared under the programme was UAH 57,100/ha in January of this year, UAH 56,800/ha in December 2025, and UAH 50,400/ha in November.
It was also noted that under 21 other agreements concluded by the Humanitarian Demining Center, demining operators began clearing more than 3,300 hectares of agricultural land, with the cost of these services totaling UAH 220.1 million.
Overall, work is currently ongoing under 37 agreements covering approximately 8,000 hectares of farmland. 82 agreements have already been completed, returning 14,600 hectares to use. The cost of these completed works amounted to about UAH 854.5 million.
