Terra Drone Corporation (headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo; CEO: Toru Tokushige) announced that its interceptor drone “Terra A1,” previously unveiled together with its portfolio company Amazing Drones, has begun operational deployment in Ukraine.
The system is already being operated by military units for defensive purposes, and evaluation and feedback collection in real combat conditions are currently ongoing.
This deployment follows a phased model, starting with introduction to units and expanding based on evaluation results. Performance verification and identification of operational issues are currently underway, and further deployment and expansion to additional units are being considered.
“Terra A1” was developed with a design philosophy focused on real-world deployment, emphasizing rapid deployment capability and ease of operation. Data obtained through actual use, along with field feedback, is continuously reflected in product improvements and operational optimization.
Terra Drone emphasizes knowledge gained through real-world operations and is working to strengthen field-driven product development and improvement cycles. This initiative is positioned as an important step in verifying product practicality and operational adaptability within a deployment model based on real-world evaluation.
In the future, once sufficient effectiveness against low-cost, mass-deployed unmanned attack systems such as Shahed-type drones is confirmed in real environments, the company plans to expand deployment, strengthen mass production systems, and consider expansion to other regions facing similar challenges, thereby promoting technologies that contribute to improved safety and operational efficiency.
