Slovakia is officially ending emergency support to Ukraine’s power system, but this will not affect electricity supply to Ukrainian homes.

According to NEC Ukrenergo, the company received the official notification from the Slovak operator SEPS only weeks after such intentions were publicly mentioned. The mutual emergency support agreement will officially cease in May.

“SEPS has not provided any explanation for canceling the agreement. On our side, NEC Ukrenergo has never violated any contractual obligations, acting in the spirit of good neighborliness and in compliance with European legislation,” the energy company stated.

They also assured that ordinary consumers will not be affected. Emergency electricity from Slovakia was rarely used—the last instance was in January. Meanwhile, commercial electricity imports will continue as usual, allowing companies to purchase Slovak electricity at auctions without any restrictions.
