One of Ukraine’s goals for 2026–2027 is to control the largest possible area of the Black Sea, said Ukrainian Defense Ministry advisor Serhii “Flash” Beskrestnov.

“One of the objectives we set for ourselves in 2026–2027 is control over the maximum area of the Black Sea. Five years ago, this would have caused a smile: a country without a large navy claiming anything,” he wrote on Telegram.

According to him, times have changed. The era of unmanned surface and underwater vessels, as well as various types of flying drones, has arrived. This is complemented by modern electronic warfare (EW) and radar technologies.

“Our country will surprise many in this area. And our enemy will fear sending a single ship into the open sea from the waters of their own ports. You’ll see,” the Defense Ministry advisor promised.
