Fires in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone broke out as a result of falling Russian drones; radiation levels remain normal.

According to the State Agency of Ukraine on Exclusion Zone Management (SAUEZM), firefighting operations are ongoing in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone following fires caused by the crash of hostile UAVs.

"Firefighting efforts are continuing in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone after fires broke out as a result of enemy UAVs falling on its territory. Firefighting units from enterprises under SAUEZM, State Emergency Service (SES) teams, and specialized equipment have been deployed to extinguish the fires," the agency said.

On June 29, a fire in one of the environmental scientific research departments was completely extinguished. Work continues in other areas to contain the fires and prevent them from spreading. Additional personnel and equipment from the SES consolidated unit in Kyiv region have been deployed to the Exclusion Zone. The situation is being monitored using video surveillance systems, as well as the capabilities of Ukraine's Defense Forces.

"Radiation monitoring is being carried out continuously through the automated monitoring system. No exceedances of the control levels for the gamma radiation dose rate have been recorded," SAUEZM noted.

The agency assured that the situation remains under control.
