On the night of October 10, Russian forces carried out another massive combined attack on the territory of Ukraine, using various types of missiles and drones.
This was reported on television by the head of the Communications Department of the Ukrainian Air Force, Yuriy Ihnat.
"Unfortunately, we have another combined strike. Why combined? It involves the use of a large number of different types of air attack means: drones, aeroballistic, ballistic, cruise, and aviation missiles," Ihnat noted.
According to him, this time the strikes were dispersed across different regions, rather than focused on a single oblast. The main feature of the attack was the massive use of ballistic missiles.
"In addition to two aeroballistic ‘Kinzhal’ missiles, the enemy used 14 ‘Iskander-M’ or ‘KN-23’ ballistic missiles at once. They attacked from different directions across various regions, mainly targeting critical infrastructure objects," he emphasized.
Ihnat stressed that the Russian forces deliberately targets the energy and gas extraction sectors, but civilians again became victims of the attacks.
"Today, unfortunately, there are casualties and deaths. We express our condolences to the families. As we can see, people suffer first and foremost," added the head of the Air Force Communications Department.
He also reported that in total, during the night attack, the Russians used over 30 missiles and more than 450 drones of various types, including approximately 200 Shahed strike drones. The remaining UAVs, although not of this type, also carry warheads.
"The enemy has long been equipping ‘Gerbera’ drones with warheads, which are also dangerous," Ihnat clarified.
