Over the course of this week, the Russian forces launched around 1,300 attack drones, more than 1,400 guided aerial bombs, and 96 missiles of various types at Ukraine.
This was reported by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Telegram.
“Just this week alone, Russia launched more than 1,300 attack drones, over 1,400 guided aerial bombs, and 96 missiles of various types against Ukraine, including dozens of ballistic missiles. That is precisely why we must strengthen our air defense. We need systems that effectively counter ballistic threats,” the President wrote.
He noted that emergency services are currently dealing with the aftermath of last night’s Russian attack. According to him, nearly 300 attack drones — most of them Shaheds — and 50 missiles of various types, a significant portion of them ballistic, were launched at Ukraine.
“Strikes targeted Kyiv and the surrounding region, as well as the Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Odessa, Poltava, and Sumy regions. Tragically, one person was killed in the Fastiv district as a result of the strike. My condolences to the family and loved ones. Eight people were injured, including one child. The main target of the attack was the energy sector. Residential buildings were also damaged, and there is damage to the railway infrastructure,” the Head of State added.
