Serial production of Seth-X and Anubis strike drones for Ukraine’s Defence Forces has begun in Germany, with more than 5,000 UAVs expected to be manufactured under German-funded contracts.
The drones are being produced by a joint venture between German-American defence technology company Auterion and Ukrainian drone manufacturer Airlogix, according to German defence publication Hartpunkt.
Production is taking place at a facility near Munich, while a second plant is planned for eastern Germany.
Among the systems entering production is the long-range Anubis kamikaze drone, designed to strike targets at distances of up to 1,500 kilometres while carrying a warhead of up to 40 kilograms.
Both Anubis and Seth-X are based on Airlogix UAV platforms and integrate Auterion software. According to Hartpunkt, the systems include AI-assisted target acquisition and terminal guidance capabilities, as well as navigation that does not depend on GNSS signals — an important feature for operations in environments affected by electronic warfare.
The production programme is intended to supply more than 5,000 Seth-X and Anubis drones to the Ukrainian military with financing provided by Germany.
Auterion and Airlogix announced the creation of their joint venture in February 2026 with the involvement of the German and Ukrainian governments. The partnership was established to combine Ukrainian drone technology and battlefield experience with large-scale European manufacturing and Auterion’s autonomous flight software.
The first deliveries of the drones to Ukraine are planned for 2026.
