Work to protect roads in the Kherson region with anti-drone nets is continuing, with more than 250 kilometres of roads already covered.
The Kherson Regional Military Administration reported this following a meeting on the installation of protective structures along key sections of roads.
“Representatives of the Defence Forces and the Department for Civil Protection and Defence of the Kherson Regional Military Administration took part in the discussion,” the administration said.
According to the regional authorities, more than 250 kilometres of roads have already been covered with anti-drone nets. The plan is to protect a total of 350 kilometres of routes.
Installation is also continuing in Kherson itself, where nearly 54 kilometres of roads have so far been covered with protective nets.
Deputy Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Olha Maliarchuk noted that Russian forces used more than 6,400 FPV drones to attack communities in the region over the past week alone.
According to her, 93% of the drones were suppressed, but Russian forces continue to increase the intensity of their attacks. She stressed that protective measures therefore need to be implemented faster and on a larger scale to safeguard people and infrastructure.
