Russian forces used the humanitarian pause in the Russian-controlled town of Oleshky in the Kherson region to strengthen their military positions.
This was stated by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Ukraine's Defence Forces ensured that the ceasefire was observed in the Kherson region. Under the ceasefire arrangements introduced for the humanitarian operation in Oleshky, Ukrainian Defence Forces units maintained the ceasefire and acted strictly within the framework of the agreements reached," the General Staff emphasised.
As a result, humanitarian supplies were delivered to their intended destinations, while Ukrainian residents who wished to leave Oleshky were evacuated to Ukrainian-controlled territory.
"Russian forces, however, used the humanitarian pause to reinforce their positions. During the ceasefire, we recorded rotations of Russian units, the strengthening of defensive positions, the expansion of anti-drone protection measures along roads and increased logistical activity, including the delivery of ammunition," the General Staff stated.
