Ukraine will continue striking Russian oil refineries unless Russia stops attacking Ukrainian energy infrastructure, President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with Fox News.
"We explained that we cannot simply refrain from responding after Russian attacks on our energy infrastructure, after Russia kills our people and attacks our electricity infrastructure, gas facilities, oil refineries — everything. We said: if you want us to stop attacking Russian oil refineries, then they must stop attacking our energy system," Zelensky said.
According to the President, Ukraine has repeatedly discussed strikes on Russian oil refineries with US President Donald Trump and his team.
At the same time, Zelensky proposed an alternative: supplying Ukraine with Patriot missiles to protect its energy infrastructure. He noted that Ukraine was prepared to pay for them itself.
"If you want us not to attack their oil refineries for one month, provide us with Patriot missiles for one month," the President said.
