Agricultural holding Nibulon has signed a long-term contract with Romanian company Transport Trade Services (TTS) for international transportation along the Danube River.

According to the statement, for four months Nibulon’s tug-barge convoys will operate international routes on the Lower Danube between Romania, Serbia, and Bulgaria.

“Cooperation with TTS confirms the competitiveness of the Ukrainian fleet on the European transport services market and opens new opportunities for Nibulon to develop international river logistics,” the company said.

The first voyage has already been completed. Nibulon’s vessels delivered a shipment of phosphate fertilizers from the port of Constanța, Romania, to Prahovo, Serbia, and then carried out a return loading of grain and oilseed crops at Danube ports in Bulgaria for delivery to Constanța.

“The circular transportation model allows us to minimize empty vessel movements and make the most efficient use of the fleet,” the company noted.

The transportation is carried out using tug-barge convoys, each capable of carrying around 8,000 tonnes of cargo, with crews consisting entirely of Ukrainian sailors.
