The MHP agroholding has started commercial production of liquefied biomethane (Bio-LNG) and made its first export shipment to the European Union.
The company announced this on Facebook.
It is noted that the biomethane is produced entirely from poultry manure and other agricultural waste.
The product is certified according to the European standard ISCC EU and meets the sustainability criteria of RED II/III.
MHP emphasized that for more than ten years, it has been investing in bioenergy infrastructure and managing one of the largest biogas project portfolios in Europe, now supplemented by Bio-LNG production.
The Energy Customs clarified that, until now, biomethane had been exported from Ukraine exclusively via the stationary gas transportation system. Liquefied biomethane is now exported using specialized tanker trucks.
“Customs clearance was carried out using the simplified procedure of joint transit with the EU and the use of the NCTS Phase 5 system, which significantly simplifies the export process from Ukraine and saves time while optimizing work processes. The advantage of joint transit is that goods move through all countries based on a single transit document and without intermediate customs control by each country,” the statement said.
MHP agroholding is the leading poultry producer in Ukraine with the largest market share. MHP owns and controls all stages of poultry production: from growing cereals and oilseeds, producing animal feed, to the production of hatching eggs and raising broiler chickens, processing, selling, distributing, and selling poultry meat (including through partner-branded outlets). The agroholding is also a leader in crop farming.
