Head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Budanov emphasized at the forum “Economy of Resilience: Leadership Challenges – 2026” in Kyiv that Ukraine needs neo-industrialization.

Budanov wrote about this on Telegram.

“Ukraine needs neo-industrialization. We must gain access to modern technologies and have a highly skilled workforce. This is one of the key tasks of today, and this is exactly what we discussed over the weekend at the ‘Economy of Resilience: Leadership Challenges – 2026’ Forum in Kyiv. The event was organized by The Aspen Institute Kyiv in partnership with CEO Club Ukraine and the Frontier Institute,” Budanov informed.

According to him, no matter how heroic and professional the military may be, without a strong economy the army will not be able to defend the country.

“Back in the early 1990s, Ukraine was among the top ten countries in the world with the best economic indicators. However, decades of corruption and ineffective governance, as well as 13 years of total war, have undermined our industrial strength. We must restore our capacities. This is a matter of survival for the nation and the state,” Budanov said.

The forum brought together strong representation from business and government, parliament and local self-government, the military and civil society, with each participant seeking answers to the question of what path Ukraine will take after achieving a sustainable peace.

“I was glad to exchange views with proactive citizens who strengthen our country every day, develop it across various sectors, and have a vision of the direction the country should move in to achieve shared success,” Budanov emphasized.
