The Kyiv Security Forum has opened an EU Office in Brussels to strengthen Ukraine’s engagement with European Union and NATO institutions and promote the country’s security, integration and reconstruction priorities.
The new office will focus on several of Ukraine’s key strategic objectives, including victory in the war, accession to the EU and NATO, post-war reconstruction, holding Russia accountable and securing reparations.
It will serve as a permanent platform for meetings, negotiations and expert discussions involving EU and NATO institutions, partner governments and parliaments, think tanks, civil society organisations and the media.
Among its priorities will be strengthening long-term international support for Ukraine, advancing European and Euro-Atlantic integration, attracting partners to reconstruction and defence cooperation, and developing mechanisms for using frozen Russian assets and securing reparations from Russia.
The office will also work to develop strategic cooperation between the European Union, Ukraine and the United Kingdom, while strengthening ties with key NATO partners.
“Ukraine today is defending not only itself – it is defending Europe. We are opening an office in Brussels so that Ukrainian interests are consistently represented where decisions on Europe’s future are made,” said Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Chairman of the Kyiv Security Forum and founder of the Open Ukraine Foundation and the KSF EU Office.
The Brussels office has been established as an international NGO under a Royal Decree signed by King Philippe of Belgium and is expected to become fully operational in 2027.
Marcin Bużanski has been appointed Executive Director of the KSF EU Office. A political scientist and foreign and security policy expert, he has extensive experience in international diplomacy, negotiations and conflict resolution.
The opening expands the international presence of the Kyiv Security Forum, which has worked since 2007 to strengthen links between Ukraine and its international partners. Founded by the Arseniy Yatsenyuk Open Ukraine Foundation, the forum brings together political leaders, diplomats, military officials, experts, civil society representatives and journalists to discuss international security and Ukraine’s place in the global security architecture.
