The Japanese company Terra Drone Corporation, through its subsidiary Terra Inspectioneering, has made a strategic investment in the Ukrainian defense company WinnyLab LLC, which develops and manufactures drone interceptors.
According to a press release by Terra Drone on Tuesday, this investment follows earlier investments in Ukrainian interceptor drone developer Amazing Drones.
“By combining the wide-area defense capabilities of fixed-wing interceptor drones with Terra Drone’s global reach, we aim to bring reliable, combat-proven technology to markets around the world and contribute to the safety and stability of the international community,” said Toru Tokushige, CEO of Terra Drone Corporation in the release.
In March, Terra Drone announced plans to scale its operations in Ukraine and expand the use of technological expertise developed in real combat conditions for further international projects.
During the deal with Amazing Drones, the company stated it plans to accelerate the development and delivery of unmanned systems, including interceptor drones, FPV drones, reconnaissance drones, and unmanned surface vehicles (USVs).
