The painting "Generous Planet" by Ukrainian artist Ivan Marchuk was sold at a Sotheby's auction for a record €96,000.
Marchuk announced the sale on his Facebook page.
"The lot has just gone under the hammer for €96,000. A personal auction record at Sotheby’s! The work had been part of a private collection in the United States. Congratulations to the new owner!" Marchuk wrote.
Earlier, Ivan Marchuk revealed that "Generous Planet" was created in New York City.
