Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Culture, Ivan Verbytskyi, discussed the development of bilateral cultural cooperation with the Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to Ukraine, Pantelis Alexandros Dimitrakopoulos, focusing in particular on the preservation of cultural heritage, the exchange of expertise, and support for Ukrainian specialists.
According to the Ministry of Culture, the Greek side proposed launching cooperation with the European Centre for Byzantine Studies, which specializes in the preservation of monuments, icons, and mosaics.
“We aim not only to talk about cooperation, but to move to concrete actions. In particular, we are considering cooperation with the European Centre for Byzantine Studies, which has relevant expertise. We are ready to host Ukrainian specialists and cover the costs of their internships,” the ambassador was quoted as saying by the press service.

It is noted that the two sides also paid special attention to commemorating the historical figure Alexander Ypsilantis, who has ties to Ukraine.
In addition, the participants exchanged views on potential cooperation within international cultural events, as well as prospects for academic collaboration in the field of Ukrainian studies.
