Grain stocks in Ukraine increase sharply compared to last year

As of April 1, Ukraine’s stocks of cereals and legumes amounted to 15.68 million tonnes, which is 5.3 million tonnes more than on April 1, 2025.

This was reported by the Electronic Grain Exchange, citing the State Statistics Service.

“Compared to last year, grain stocks held by agricultural enterprises increased by 47.2% to 10.04 million tonnes, while stocks at processing and storage enterprises rose by 59.8% to 5.64 million tonnes,” the statement said.

By crop type, stocks increased compared to last year:

  • wheat — up 58.5% to 5.4 million tonnes
  • corn — up 46.6% to 8.8 million tonnes
  • barley — up 57% to 705,400 tonnes

At the same time, sunflower stocks decreased by 10% to 2.6 million tonnes, and rye stocks fell by 1.6% to 43,360 tonnes.
