The President of Ukraine's Fund for the Support of Education, Science and Sports has launched a funding competition for academic visits by foreign professors and researchers to Ukrainian higher education institutions and research organisations, offering up to UAH 300,000 per visit, according to a press release.

"We want Ukrainian students to have the opportunity to work with foreign professors at their own universities, even during the war — to study, discuss research challenges, ask questions and explore new approaches. By supporting these visits, we help Ukrainian institutions develop their educational programmes and provide young people with more opportunities to study in Ukraine. We are bringing the best the world has to offer to Ukraine so that our talented young people can study and fulfil their potential here," said Olha Budnyk, Presidential Adviser and Commissioner for the President of Ukraine's Fund for the Support of Education, Science and Sports.

Under the programme's requirements, invited specialists must have teaching or research experience at universities ranked among the world's top 250 in the QS, THE or ARWU rankings at any point during the past 10 years, or work at leading foreign research institutions.

The competition has two funding streams: the continuation of the UK-UA Visiting Professors Programme for British academics and academic visits by specialists from other countries, excluding Russia and Belarus.

Funding may be used to cover honoraria, travel, accommodation, medical insurance and other expenses related to educational and research activities.

Applications will be accepted from October 16, 2026, until March 31, 2027, or until the budget allocated to the relevant funding stream is exhausted.

Academic visits must take place between December 1, 2026, and June 30, 2027.

Applications can be submitted via the online application form. Full competition requirements are available on the Fund’s official website.
