Ukrainian defense-tech manufacturer Fire Point has updated the technical specifications of its FP-1 and FP-2 strike drones. The developers said that the FP-1 deep-strike drone is capable of covering a record distance of up to 3,400 km with a warhead weighing up to 60 kg.
The company disclosed the drones’ new specifications in a post published on its official Instagram page.
According to the published data, the range of the FP-2 mid-strike drone has been increased to 700 km with a warhead of up to 200 kg. Both drones have a wingspan of 6 meters, can reach speeds of up to 205 km/h and have a cruising speed of 140–180 km/h.
At the same time, Fire Point’s majority owner and chief designer, Denys Shtilerman, published photos of the FP-1 on X. The images show the drone’s upgraded wings with additional fuel tanks, which have made it possible to significantly increase its operational range, Defender Media reported.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had already spoken about Ukrainian UAVs being capable of covering distances of 3,000 km at the end of June, following a strike on the Tyumen oil refinery more than 2,000 km from the border. In early July, FP-1 drones attacked the Omsk oil refinery after covering a distance of 3,400 km.
At the beginning of the year, FP-1 drones accounted for 54% of successful target strikes and 59% of strike missions deep inside Russia. Fire Point produces 200 FP-1 drones per day, while the complete production cycle for a single UAV from scratch takes three days. Each drone costs between $55,000 and $75,000.
