Brave1 and the French Defense Innovation Agency are launching the Brave France initiative — they have signed a Letter of Intent to create a joint grant programme for defense companies.
The initiative includes:
- A joint grant programme to support Ukrainian and French defense innovations;
- Hackathons to find practical solutions and support the growth of startups;
- Testing of innovations through the Test in Ukraine platform.
Ukraine and France have strong potential for cooperation in defense tech. This partnership opens access for Ukraine to the advanced technologies of its allies, while the French side gains unique experience in conducting high-tech warfare that cannot be replicated under any other circumstances.
Next steps include agreeing on priority themes, establishing a joint coordination body, developing a financing mechanism, and planning additional activities.
The initiative is scheduled to launch in the second quarter of 2026.
