Consumer prices in Ukraine increased by 0.1% in August 2026, following a 0.3% rise in July and a 0.1% decline in June, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine reported on Wednesday.
The agency noted that consumer prices fell by 0.2% in August 2025. As a result, annual inflation accelerated to 8.1% in August 2026, up from 7.7% in July and 7.2% in June, although it remained below the 8.2% recorded in May.
Core inflation increased to 0.5% in August from 0.3% in July, returning to the level recorded in June. As core inflation also stood at 0.5% in August 2025, the annual rate remained unchanged at 8.1%.
At the end of July the National Bank of Ukraine revised its inflation forecast for 2026 upwards to 10.0% from 9.4% in its previous April forecast. It also raised its 2027 inflation forecast to 6.9% from 6.5%.
