Air defense shot down two Zircon missiles and 52 Russian drones

On the night of February 16 (from 18:00 on February 15), the Russian forces carried out an attack using four Zircon anti-ship missiles launched from the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, a ballistic Iskander-M missile from the Bryansk region, and a guided Kh-31P air-launched missile from the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region.

The attack also involved 62 strike UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas types, as well as other types of drones launched from the directions of Millerovo, Kursk, Bryansk, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), and Hvardiiske (temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea). About 40 of them were “Shahed” drones.

The air assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

According to preliminary data as of 09:00, air defense forces shot down or suppressed two Zircon anti-ship missiles and 52  UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas types, as well as other drones.

One missile and nine strike UAVs hit targets at eight locations. Debris from downed targets fell at two locations. Information regarding three Russian missiles is being clarified.
