Air defense shot down 345 drones used by the Russian army to attack Ukraine on the morning of April 1, as reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to the report, after the drone strike during the night of April 1, Russian forces carried out repeated launches — from 08:00 to 18:00 on Wednesday, they attacked Ukraine with another 361 strike drones.
About 250 of the new targets were Shahed-type drones.
“Considering the night attack from 18:00 on March 31 to 18:00 on April 1, 2026 (a conditional 24-hour period), the enemy deployed over 700 strike drones of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types,” the military stated.
The vast majority of the drones approached during the day from the southeast, heading west.
All available air defense means were engaged to repel the attack: manned aircraft, anti-air drones, electronic warfare units, and ground-based air defense systems.
Preliminary reports indicate that by 18:00, 345 drones had been shot down or jammed. At the same time, 14 strikes were recorded, and there are casualties.
Combat operations continue. Several UAVs are still detected in the airspace.
