On the night of March 9 (starting from 18:30 on March 8), Russian forces attacked with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles launched from the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea, as well as 197 attack UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types from the directions of Oryol, Kursk, Bryansk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia) and Hvardiiske (temporarily occupied Crimea). About 120 of them were Shahed drones.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data as of 08:00, air defense shot down or suppressed 161 Russian UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types in the north, south and east of the country.
Hits by two missiles and 36 attack UAVs were recorded at eight locations, while debris from downed drones fell at one location.
