President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine is in security-related communication with nine countries.

He said this in a Telegram post following a briefing by National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov on the results of the first stage of work with partners in the Middle East and Gulf region.

“At this stage, Ukraine is in security communication with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Turkey, Syria, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain. We have requests for cooperation with Iraq. Today we discussed the potential for joint work with countries of the Caucasus, as well as East and Southeast Asia. There are substantive requests from African states. We are also preparing the basis for deeper security agreements in Europe – we expect results already this week,” Zelensky said.

He instructed Umerov to finalize several new security agreement projects and prepare them for signing.

“It is important that Ukrainian military expertise is being recognized, and the combat experience of our soldiers is becoming a strong component of partners’ defense. Every nation deserves security, and we are ready to quickly and effectively support those who support our state and independence. This includes protection against strike and other types of drones in the air, as well as addressing maritime security challenges – Ukraine’s experience in the Black Sea can also be applied to other globally important sea routes,” the President emphasized.
