In Bucharest, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with President of Finland Alexander Stubb.
The leaders discussed diplomatic efforts to bring an end to Russia’s war against Ukraine and Europe’s role in this process. Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed the importance of transatlantic unity in any steps toward peace. The President of Finland informed the President of Ukraine about his assessments of the situation and his contacts with partners.
“Ukraine is in a much stronger position, effectively in a position of strength. Now you are a security provider in Europe, not a consumer. I am absolutely convinced that Europe needs you and your experience. And we will continue working together in this direction,” said Alexander Stubb.
Ukrainian and Finnish teams are already working on preparing a Drone Deal, and the leaders expect a prompt result.

The President of Ukraine particularly highlighted Finland’s contribution to the PURL initiative, which is helping greatly protect lives in Ukraine, especially in light of massive Russian air strikes like the one today.
The Presidents also discussed Ukraine’s European integration and the need to open all negotiation clusters in the coming months.
The Head of State expressed gratitude for all Finland’s support and personally to Alexander Stubb for his principled and consistent position on supporting Ukraine.
