Ukraine is aware of the Russian forces’ war plans for the next two years – and they are unrealistic.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky during an interview with the media, published by 24 Kanal.

The head of state said that Ukraine has received documents detailing the Russia's plans for the past year, 2025, the current year, 2026, and the next year, 2027.

“The 2025 plans are a bit outdated: we can see that they did not achieve their goals. We have 2026–2027 plans – we understand what they want,” Zelensky said.

According to him, over the next two years, the Russians still consider the occupation of Donetsk and Luhansk regions a priority.

“They definitely want to continue in the Zaporizhzhia direction, and also toward Dnipro. It is difficult for them, but they are looking at the Odessa region,” the president added.

However, he noted that these maps “currently have nothing to do with reality,” as the Russians are unable to achieve their objectives.

Zelensky added that the offensive operation the Russian forces planned for spring was heavily dependent on the groundwork they were preparing at the end of 2025.

However, the Russians failed to accomplish the tasks scheduled for that period, and their maps do not correspond to reality regarding the locations of their forces and Ukrainian forces, the president explained.

“They cannot launch the March offensive – the one they wanted. I don’t know if it will happen in the spring or when. They want to advance,” the head of state said.

He noted that Ukraine currently does not see in Russia the forces needed to implement its plans:

“But everything depends on contracts, offensives, weapons, the supply of weapons to us, and also our own production.”
