Amid the difficult energy situation caused by Russian strikes on energy infrastructure, Ukraine has already received a shipment of equipment from Italy to support the regions, President Volodymyr Zelensky said during a briefing with journalists.
“This is the first delivery of additional generation, so to speak. This equipment from Italy will generate about 100–150 MW. If we are precise, the part of the equipment that has arrived is 116 MW. We are counting on more. I won’t say where this equipment is located because there could be corresponding Russian strikes,” he said.
Zelensky expressed gratitude to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni for the assistance.
He also added that he discussed support for Ukraine with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and several other European leaders.
