President Volodymyr Zelensky held a coordination call on the regions affected by Russian strikes and emphasized the need to strengthen both water supply security and air defense systems.
The Head of State said in an evening Telegram address:
“We know that the Russians are preparing an operation against water supply systems in the coming months. Every community must take this very seriously and assume full responsibility for protecting these critical facilities,” Zelenskyy stated.
The President added that he also held a nationwide coordination call covering all regions affected by Russian strikes and impacts.
“Special attention was given to Chernihiv region, where restoration work to bring back electricity continued throughout the day. I have instructed government officials and the Office of the President team, together with our military, to further develop air defense measures, particularly protection against drones in western regions of Ukraine,” the Head of State said.
According to him, additional layers of defense need to be established—this is a clear task.
“We also reviewed key priorities today with the Prime Minister of Ukraine, the head of Naftogaz, other government officials, and the Minister of Defense. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also has tasks to accomplish,” Zelensky concluded.
