President Volodymyr Zelensky received a report from Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi on the situation at the front and emphasized that the Russian forces are concentrating its greatest efforts in the Donetsk region.

He announced this via Telegram.

“Report from Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi. The front — first and foremost, the defense in the Pokrovsk and other directions in Donetsk region. It is in Donetsk that the occupier’s efforts are most concentrated. I thank all our units for their resilience,” Zelensky said.

The President specifically acknowledged the soldiers of the Special Operations Forces and the 59th Assault Brigade of the Unmanned Systems Forces fighting in the Pokrovsk direction, as well as the soldiers of the 5th Assault Brigade and the 225th Separate Assault Regiment operating in the Novopavlivka direction.

“Every Russian attempt to break through must be met with an appropriate fire response from Ukrainian forces. In particular, we are destroying Russian sabotage groups trying to advance and infiltrate Ukrainian cities and villages. No such Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group will have a chance of survival,” Zelensky emphasized.

According to him, the situation remains especially difficult in the border areas of Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

“The Russian army continues to torment our people in Kherson and Mykolaiv regions, attacking civilians with various types of drones. We will respond to them tangibly. Thank you to everyone who delivers the necessary combat results for Ukraine!” he said.

The President noted that the Commander-in-Chief and the Minister of Defense have already discussed what forces and resources are needed for more effective destruction of the occupiers and more impactful long-range Ukrainian strikes.

“We will fully provide them,” the Head of State emphasized.
